Tips for relieving stress and herbs to help your nervous system relax....
It's the last week we'll be talking about herbs for stress and the perfect day as today is the New Moon in Pisces. A wonderful day to pay attention to the God/Goddess inside of you, relax and enjoy your life!
Chamomile- Matricaria recutita
(Fresh or dried flowers)

Helps to decrease inflammatory or irritating states of the nervous system. Especially good in use for nervous conditions involving a nervous stomach. This plant ally helps to relieve tension in the digestive system . Can be used internally and externally, externally it soothes tissues. (In ancient Egypt it's depicted in hieroglyphics that Chamomile was a popular skin care ingredient.) Matricaria
is often used with small children, and can be helpful for restless sleepers and colicky babies.
Drinking a cup of this before bed can help to relax the body and prepare it for sleep.
We love chamomile tea and in glycerite tincture form is a great option for children or when you can't drink tea.
Passion flower- Passiflora incarnata
(Fresh extract, using entire vine, leaf and flower)

This herb has been helpful for slowing down excessive mental activity, and employed in instances where the mind is constantly running, stress and anxiety are present. Passiflora acts as a nervous system depressant and aids with deepening and lengthening sleep. Can be useful for anxiety, insomnia, epilepsy, shingles, and hypertension.
Contraindicated for use with young children
We love wisewomanherbals passion flower in solid extract form. You can also usually find a solid extract at your local health food store.
